An Odd Question....
Here's one for you: Do Ritualists get affected by blindness?

K... I don't think you understood the point. What I'm really getting at is that it would be more than a little silly for Ritualists to be affected by blindness when they are permanently blind in the first place. Not that it would really matter, seeing as they're not heavily weapon-based...

The opposite of your question: Do Ritualists always have the status effect blindess on them?
Anyway I'd like to know the answer to that myself.

They'd get affected by blindness about as much as every other caster. So their weapons don't do damage, their spells/stuffs still does.
And even though they wear a headpiece blinding them, their weapons still specify some type of damage, so I'm assuming that they would still hit things (unless blinded by the opposition)

From what I saw of the preview events, although the Ritualist has a somewhat drunken way of expelling projectiles from his wand, they will all hit the target, providing nothing is obstructing/blocking/evading etc.

See, ritualists don't need their eyes, 'cuz they have a kind of spiritual sixth sense that lets them "see" anyway. And it's just a coincidence that this sixth sense is disabled if you flash light at them, or throw dirt on their mask, or...

Why would it be? Magic in Guild Wars is never affected by sight or the lack thereof.

so, basically, they arent blind at all, nor do their masks/headgeer stop them seeing or becoming blinded.....
i mean, if that was the case, how come rangers are still able to smell? and technically, talk (cutscene)

How does some elementalist and mesmer women "armour" offer any protection at all?
Edit: Actually not just elementalist and mesmer, every profession seems to have some kind of bikini armour thing going on with at least one set.

I think they're a race that has the ability to see without using their eyes, but I don't really know, haven't read much background on the Luxons.

I don't think ritualists are Luxon in particular... are they?
But anyways, I think ritualists can just see without their eyes because of that intense spiritual power or whatever they they harness to make spirits and stuff.

Indeed. Which begs the question: Why would they be affected by physical blindness? It doesn't make sense...

Ok The cloth is just thin. They can see through it but they act blind to perpetuate the belief in their "mystical" ability to see the beyond. So the Rit's are big fat liars and that's why blindness works on them. End of discussion.

Here's what I found, I guess it's just protective clothing. Still not really sure, maybe it's just a Ritualist thing like jagflame mentioned.
The Luxons are a Nomadic Group
Primarily sun dwellers, the Luxons reside on the coastal and island areas of Cantha. Unlike the Kurzicks, the Luxons are a tall tribe fond of wearing colorful and protective clothes against the rays of the sun.
Luxons belong to one of three known clans, and do not appear to have faith in the old Gods. To whom the Luxons pray, little is known.
